#7 – Remember: We set the agenda!

Publication date: 01.05.25

During this month, we marked Israel’s Independence Day – while Palestinians marked it as “Nakba Day”. We anticipated the anti-Zionist flood of anti-Israel posts, so we decided to shift the focus and set the agenda ourselves. Guess what we chose to highlight?

#7 – Remember: We set the agenda!

Publication date: 01.05.25

During this month, we marked Israel’s Independence Day – a day Palestinians refer to as the Nakba (“disaster”). We knew in advance that anti-Zionist voices would use the occasion to flood social media with anti-Israel content, so we took the lead and set the hot topic of the week ourselves: the ethnic cleansing of Jews from Arab countries in 1948.

Why this topic?
Because when the State of Israel was founded – after the Palestinians rejected the UN Partition Plan – Jews in Arab countries were targeted in pogroms, stripped of their property and rights, and violently expelled, shortly after surviving a Nazi genocide in Europe.

When you stick to facts, and clarify what real ethnic cleansing and genocide actually mean – no matter how loud the shouting gets – reality speaks for itself.

Our very own Idit Bar presented this topic to her audience in Arabic, raising awareness of the Israeli story and Jewish history. Go ahead and follow her through the links below!
